FOOTBALL IS BACK!!
Yes folks, as sad as I am that summer has come to an end, the best part about Fall is definitely the football! On 9/11/11 we spent our day in remembrance at the Skins home opener against the Giants. Now...for those of you non-football fans...1) I feel bad for you (I kid, I kid) but 2) it has been EXACTLY 3 years and 6 games since Washington beat the Giants.
Horrible I know.
Well, this past Sunday we WON - 28 to 14!!! The weather was gorgeous, the barbeques were HOT and our team kicked ass on the home turf. It was the perfect ending to an awesome week and I wanted to share it with all of you.
Arrived before the gates open and tailgated with the cars.
This was just the BEGINNING of the tailgate, completely epic! HUGE thanks to Ted and the crew!
Oh and the best part?? Our NEW seats!! 8 rows up from the end zone, glorious!!
My camera ended up dying since I had used it all week at the lake sooo I had to use my iPhone for this one. Regardless, the day was amazing and the tribute they did for 9/11 was absolutely tear jerking. It was amazing to see all the Giants fans and Skins fans alike cheering together as the Star-Spangled Banner was sung and flags were waved.
::Completely memorable::
Anyway, so glad to be back from the lake which means my booty is back in the kitchen. Looking forward to sharing some delicious new recipes and many more skinny desserts!

I enjoy seeing your daily FB posts, getting new ideas, inspiration, and healthy recipes. But I must say, I LOVE, LOVE it even more now that I know they come from a fellow 'Skins fan! Just another interesting stat, we have not beaten the Giants in a season opener game since...1976!!! I'd say we were about due huh?? Thanks for the daily thoughts and ideas, and of course, HTTR!!!

I am so ready for fall! I love the summer, but I am ready for boots, leggings and football! Haha! I also went to the Skins game on Sunday. The game was amazing! Also, how about the 100 yard flag?! Best game I have been to in a very long time! Cute Skins shirt by the way!
I was torn on Sunday. Living in Wisconsin, I have to get my Houston Texans game through the internet. Plus I was smoking 2 whole chickens and a pan of stuffing.
Even through the distractions, I totally enjoyed their big defeat over the Colts of 34 to 7.
Go Texans!!!!

I think we Californians will never understand the love of football that the rest of the country has... but I loved looking at pictures of your excitement for it :) I think sports are fun whether or not you like them because of the mere fact that you can get together and have a reason to celebrate with friends and family -- no holiday required!
My husband is going to love your blog! He and his entire family are Skins' fans too! Can't wait to look through your posts and see if you have Skins' recipes!
I do love football (especially pro) and am jealous of the tailgating and your seats. Well, kinda of your seats. You're just in such the wrong stadium. Redskins??? Really???? I may have to stop reading your blog.
Chicago Bears. Pittsburgh Steelers. 'Nuff said.

Looks like so much fun Kelly. I've never noticed before but you look a little like Gretchen from the real housewives of o.c. Trust me, huge compliment as she's gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. I always like the posts with pics of people in them.
And this is where I realize you must be from the DC area and do a semi-freak out. I'm a Skins fan toooo! And from the area, though obviously not living there right now. I'll be back at Thanksgiving though and can't wait.
