My apologies as first of all this isn't exactly a SUPER healthy recipe. But seriously these are just TOO amazing not to share with you guys! I got this recipe from my amazing Food Network app on my phone and these wings are now officially my boyfriend's (and mine) FAVORITE recipe. Oh yeah, and I got the official stamp of approval from our dads too (score!)
One way to make these wings A LOT healthier is to remove the skin. That one modification will take this recipe from 10 grams of fat to roughly zero! I also substituted Splenda in for the sugar it called for. Mmm they were soo delish!! I promise! The spiciness of the habanero, the sweetness of the brown sugar mixed with the zest of lime is the perfect combination of ingredients for a sauce that is mouthwatering good! Tip: the longer you allow the chicken to marinate in the mixture, the better they taste!
Again, sorry this recipe isn't super light but personally I feel a little indulgence during the week is always a good thing :)

I love that you even put a healthy spin on a recipe that may not be the healthiest. A little indulgence can be a good thing - these wings sounds delicious!
The wings look and sound amazing. Wings are my boyfriend and my favorite guilty treat. I totally have to try these!
Looks and sounds finger licking good!
This looks so delicious! My hubby and I could eat wings all day. It's okay to give us a little treat, with not so healthy food!! =]
Oh! My! Yes! These do look delish! All those spices and finger licking goodness.
I love the sound of the sauce you've used- spicy and sweet. These wings would probably disappear quickly if they made an appearance at my house! A little indulgence can't be but so bad for you! :)
Nom Nom Nom. My goodness these look so good. Thanks for sharing.
yummy looking wings...
drooling- wow.
Could eat them whooole day :D
Chicken wings is my all time favourite party snack food. I love this sassy Caribbean style :)
A treat once in a while is OK. We love chicken wings but try not to have them too often because the are so fat ladden. Removing the skin is not an option for my husband. We normally take two premade hot sauces but I really like this recipe. Will have to try it soon.
Sounds delicious! I love the caribbean spices in there. Delicious...a symphony of flavor!
Looks super yummy! Perfect for summer!
Yummy! I love all of the spices in the marinade. I bet they tasted amazing! :D
Everything in moderation. Although, I know me and I would over indulge in these. They sound absolutely amazing and the caribbean spices have my mouth watering. Crave worthy. Yummy!
I don't need healthy :) I just need GOOD! Well done!

I have some chicken wings in the fridge that are begging for a recipe like this! Sounds so tasty.
I am so glad you shared the recipe. With flavors like that I can skip the healthy part. But thanks for all those little tips and substitute to keep it healthy.
Packed with lots of flavours. That's what we like. I can imagine how deliciously spicy it is.
This marinade sounds great! I want to try with boneless skinless thighs! Love spicy stuff in the summer.
Oh yum! These sound great! I am all for removing skin anyway - doesn't really do much for me, and it adds so much fat! Great recipe!
These sound fantastic! I love wings and I love anything spicy so this is a definite make for me. Also was a definite buzz! :-D
These sound tasty! Could I sub Truvia for Splenda?
I think those wings look delicious. Love your tips on making them skinnier!
These may not be super healthy, but I give you credit for finding ways to make them healthier! They look so yummy!
Looks yummy and tempting great work Kelly!
Cheers!
Maria
Perfectly done and looks so yummy!
Ok, first off, as a vegetarian, I'll admit I'm not going to be making these any time soon. Having said that, I love any recipe that lists "habaneros" as the first ingredient. And if I did eat meat, I'd be all over these. :)
YUMMY!
I kind of agree with you that to eat healthy you must sometimes be willing to break the rules ... that tends to stop any unhealthy cravings:) Nice chicken wings.
Lovely wings and nice with all the herbs you have added to create a mixed flavour.
Sounds amazing and love the healthy spin on them.
Ahhh! I love Caribbean anything - these look delicious!
These are going to win me so many brownie points with my husband- they look completely awesome!
This looks so delicious! I never eat the skin so that makes it even better! :)
These are for me! I will take 3 dozen ! love them!!!
These are definitely worth a splurge...yes yes. All that flavor...love it.
These look fab, but I'm sort of scared of habanero...could I use jalapeno or serrano instead?
Oh we love wings and these sound perfect, I love the sweetness from the sugar, sounds perfect!
Those chicken wings look fingerlicking!
Love all the spices in these wings. I might just have to have a bbq this weekend. These are brilliant for our unpredictable weather as I can do them in the oven.
